I want to sell some shares. ...actually, a small quantity in some 25 companies. Is there a way of selling them without having to incur the minimum charge for each company ? and is there any tax payable afterwards ?

Best bet is to look for the lowest minimum charge - you won't be able to avoid it.

No tax unless you go over your capital gains tax allowance - that's £10100 in profit not £10100 selling price.

The new governemnt is making plans to change this - precisely how is yet to be worked out

I am extremely grateful to you DZUG2.....I bought a few penny shares some 20 years ago when I had the odd bonus and regularly topped up when invited to do so. The result is a queer mix and, getting on in age, I want to realise the lot. From your advise I need not worry about taxes.....Many thanks
