They kept sending us conflicting tax assessments , as you may have found out phoning up the inland revenue can be a waste of time as in 'one advisor will give you different information to another' .
The thing we did was to make an appointment with a welfare officer at our local council department who deals with these issues , and also calculated what we should of being getting.
Maybe you could try this route.
