€1000. How should I invest?

I have €1000 lying in a little used account. I got a statement recently showing that I made 5 cents interest on it. I'm now thinking of investing it somwhere else so as to gain more interest. Does anyone have any suggestions? The Irish government is offering a ten year thing that offers 50% less 2.5% DIRT, but ten years is pretty long. I don't mind investing in a UK thing if it is a good opportunity. Any suggestions?
