Week's Lying On
8 Answers
After working for BT via Manpower for the past 3 years, my son has been given a full time contract with BT. It started on 1st Nov and he has been told that he'll go from being paid weekly, to monthly and therefore won't have any money coming in until the end of Jan.
How are people meant to live, especially over Xmas, (he has a 2 year old daughter). I thought "lying on" periods were for new employees that nothing was known about.

In your son's case this would be for the payrun at the end of November which I will run for my company on Wednesday 24th to be in the emplyees bank accounts on Friday 26th as we always pay on 28th of each month or the last working day before if it falls on a weekend/bank holiday. There does not seem to be any reason why the company cannot do this for him as there is still plenty of time left. Also I cannot see why he should have to wait until the end of January - that is far too long. If I suggested that to anyone at my company I would have a riot on my hands.
