I need to take my ex-tenant to the small claims court for unpaid rent etc. I live in Kent and the house/ex tenant is in Dorset. Do I have to be at the court in order to make a claim, or can I do it in writing? Do I have to have a representative, as I really don't know anyone who would go on my behalf. Thanks

You might even be able to claim online. (Her Majesty's Courts Service operates a scheme called 'Money Claim Online').
