Do different kinds of accounts pay interest at different times of the year within the same bank (nationwide to be specific).

I only ask because of the three accounts I have open, only two of them collected interest yesterday, and I can't find it on the website.

Cashbuilder and smart saver accounts got interest and a champion ISA didn't . . .

ISAs pay interest either monthly or at the end of the financial year - 5 April.

Ahhhh, thanks. It must be at the end of the financial year since i've had it since october/ november and none's come through yet.
Yes - savings accounts will pay on 31st Dec (ours do), others (like our Flex Account) pay monthly, ISAs (for all banks I believe) pay out at the end of the tax year.
There are better accounts than cashbuilder the interest rate is a joke

At 17, is there one with a decent interest rate (compared to others) with possibly a debit card that i can use online? I can't use the cashbuilder account to buy online can I even though it has a card ?!
Do you check your interest rates daily then, Molly?

Try Building Societies for debit cards.
molly, ask Nationwide if they will open a Flex account for you. It's a current account with a debit card, and you can move money into it from your other accounts when you want to spend it.
