Is this company trading ethically/morally or money grabbers?

My brother bought my cats a present for their Christmas - something to chase and kill and then, eventually, be confiscated and hidden.
The toy came on a little bit of card saying that it was made by "Animal Club" with the logo for the "Blue Cross" animal charity shown at the top.
When I read the back of the card I noticed that the Animal Club comp gives a minimum donation of 1% to stated charity. All that I found via Google is-

I am curious to know if this is legit - not that it matters as the furry things are well trashed and worth the money - this company has used the Blue Cross logo clearly on the front of the pack and yet donates the minimum amount possible to the charity.
Thanks

I used to think you were the crazy cat lady. But now I realise I am the nutter who bought your cats Christmas presents.

andrew - just found your post. The toys were really appreciated by Frankie and Merlin - they were good quality. It is the "made in China" words at the back of the packaging - always rings little bells in my mind.
Now - what will I do now. I could go and finish reading the Daily Mail or enter some competitions or even groom Princess Stroppy in advance of our visit to the vet tomorrow.
