I thought it was less? You get £173 a week tax-free instead of £165? May be worth ringing your local tax office, but this is what happened with mine.

You will pay £16 or £32 more over the tax year depending on whether you are taxed at 20% or 40%.

ljdksa has the figures incorrect as your coding (times by 10) relates to the annual allowance not weekly!

I agree with Twix123. You were able to earn £1,730 per year free of tax, now you can earn £1,650, ie. a reduction of £80 per year.
