can i use my old sort code?

my mum's local hsbc has closed and she still has her cheque book with the sortcode for that branch. can she still use it?
She's filling in a form to cash in her premium bonds and she has to put the sort code, to have the money paid into her bank.
I've looked on the website for info, but it doesn't say.

Unless she has been given a new sort code then I suggest it will be okay to use the old one.
for a while the bank will automartically transfer the old code to the new one, there will be lots in the pipeline still needing to go through
