A friend of mine works night shifts as a moderator on american forums. It can be very busy or very quiet but she does 12 hour shifts whilst her kids are asleep (she doesnt get much sleep lol)

There's loads of scams out there, NEVER send money for registration fees etc. A genuine organisation won't ask for this.
