The wealth of these people changes according to the market value of their stockholding in their respective companies. In regards to what they actually do, the answer is not a great deal.

Interestingly, if ever a child is told at school that they will never amount to anything, they should refer to Larry Ellison, known as the "other" software billionaire. I believe he has no qualifications at all, yet just happened to start something no-one was doing at the time.

Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard for the sole reason that he thought their was nothing useful they could teach him. He often wears a slightly smug expression in photographs. With around �30 billion in the bank, it's not hard to see why.
