Antibes 'Ideal' For Brits Wanting A Second Home
We have all been on that perfect getaway – the weather was superb, the beaches pristine, the kids hardly squabbled and you and your partner didn’t row once. What if you could repeat that experience every year, how great would that be?
For most of us a visit to a foreign country is usually a holiday or occasionally a business trip. However, more and more people are seeing the value in buying a second home abroad. Then you could go on holiday knowing the sheets had been washed and the bathroom cleaned, because you had done it yourself.
Those who have questions about where to buy their second home have been advised that Antibes is a potentially ideal location. A representative for the Antibes Juan-les-Pins tourist board, said not only is the French area popular with Brits, but there is a lot of choice when it comes to accommodation. Everything from modern and small flats to luxury villas is available, she explained.
"It's a very multi-cultural community so people are very well accepted there. There are also plenty of Britons living there all year round like myself and finding work there," she added.
Antibes is located on the Cote d'Azur and it is steeped in ancient history. The naturally protected port has made the town an important trading centre almost from its inception. The town is a living testimony to what has gone before, and the ramparts and archaeological sites recall the rich history of Antibes Juan-les-Pins and are a great part of its charm.
The area is very lively with events every month to tempt you to visit your second home there at all times of the year. The town has many interesting museums including the Picasso Museum which houses one of the world's greatest Picasso collections and the Absinthe Museum.
The town boasts 48 beaches along the coastline some of which are artificial. Yachting is popular in the area and it is close to Nice and Cannes. It is also within driving distance of Monaco.
