Althought the guidance notes at the start of the section say "NOTE: this is not a place to ask Quiz and Puzzles question, or to give complete sets of answers to crosswords or quizzes" it seems most of those posting questions in this topic are not spotting that bit- perhaps because it comes after the question box.
Some questions then remain not completeley answered as they are overlooked by regular Q&P followers and may give new users the wrong idea about how good the responses are in Q&P etc.
Maybe the topic should be removed.

Yes, wolf- I did notice the only post in recent weeks that was providing adetails of a competition was from you.
I think 'Special offer' may be a better name for the section to hopefully stop all those questions asking for 7 down where's the @@@@@@@cat, etc so people can see posts like yours

Alerting people to special offers and bargains would be a good topic. But do these posts appear on the home page?

Anyhow I am off to my competition site to get caught up with my entries.

Yes, Offers & Comps post appear on the home page whereas Q&P and Crosswords posts don't.
I'm not sure many people know how to find the 'home page' though
