How to break the ice

Me and my brother haven't spoke for 3 years. His gf pretty much made him choose between us (his side of the fam) or her and their son. He stuck by his son and that cow. They split up 3 months ago. He gets to see his son at weekends but he hasn't got anyone. I feel quite sorry for him. I did offer the olive branch a couple of years ago but he threw it back in my face.
I want to text him but don't know what to say, or if he would even bother replying.
What should I do???? Or say?????

Text him. It doesn't matter if he doesn't reply. Just ask how he's doing and if he wants to meet up. The worst he can do is say no, or not reply.

why not write him a letter. It would be more personal than a text!

Text him if that what you are comfortable doing, what ever you say , don't say " I told you so " ! Time for discussion later, just let him know that you are aware he might be going through a bad time and are thinking of him. Offer to meet him for coffee somewhere neutral where you can chat .
