I think a copy of the will will be available at the Probate Registry
Wills when proven are a public document -- so contact the probate office and you can buy a copy,
You don't often state in a will how much you're leaving to various people especially as 'all' the money was left to the great nephews. It will just state that I leave my estate to ...
But I think that the details of probate are available and this will show the amount left.
So would property have to be valued?
Definitely. Everything is valued including cars, valuable items, etc.
Its the whole value of the estate, money wise and houses, cars etc. that is the probate value and if in total it is more than a certain amount then inheritance tax has to be paid. About £300,000 + I believe.
