I think that there is a Gov/UK site which wll notify the relevant authorities of death certificate which avoids the necessity of providing a copy to all who need it. Any one know the address please ?

As mentioned above, it`s the Tell Us Once service. The Registrar will provide a certificate when you register the death and it will give a unique number which is used to tell the retative authorities about the death. It is only used to tell the government departments such as Passport Office, Pensions, DVLA et - not private companies such as banks etc

When I was looking for my family tree I used to go here https:/ /www.gr o.gov.u k/gro/c ontent/ certifi cates/
I think joe s-b means a site that will send all the relevant people a copy of a persons death certificate , so that the relatives do not have to do it them selves . Stuff like pension providers, life insurance, banks and the rest.
I am sure there is no such site , the relatives have to do it them selves or get the deceased's solicitor to do it. I can't see how a government department would have all those details.
