Today in the news a teenager put on the internet that she was having a party whilst parents away. 300 yobs turned up and wrecked the place, my daughter once had a party, and I was only at friends for the night. Gate crashers turned up...outcome was personal belongings in garden, broken furniture and a real mess. Has anyone else had same..???

omg not yet but im sure with my kids one day it will happen
We didnt have many partys cos my ex didnt like change, we had one a few years back and some old fella fell over on the ice outside the house, he broke his arm and we gave him blankets, but I still think he stole my ex vibrator.
My daughter is obviously quite good at cleaning and tidying (in my absence).
I left her 'home alone' for the weekend when she was 17, on my return... I found a disgusting pair of boxer shorts behind the TV and the kitchen had strange orange spots all over it (she explained a can of Fanta had exploded, like they do!).
The neighbours said if they had to put up with the comings and goings and noise again, they would call the police!
Reminds me of the old 'Yellow Pages' advert with the scratched table and the mustache on the painting!
Nice one grumpii..... your ex vibrator or your ex's vibrator?
Thought you were a bloke! lol

One other thing about that night. My son was about 11 years old, he was staying at my mother. The next night when he went to bed the bunk beds fell apart, the stupid idiots had broken them and tried to mend them with blue tak. I just managed to catch him as he fell in a heap of pine bunk bed planks.
Hi pussnboots i have never had that happen, but i can remember one Christmas my mam had a new beautiful 6ft Xmas tree and it took her about three hours to decorate.
She had a party and my uncle was sitting on the arm of the chair next to me, i stood up and he fell of the chair and went flying in to the tree, the tree fell on him and he was covered in baubles and lights.
I still laugh to this day it was hilarious.
I feel that parents today are incredibly naive!

I fely really sorry for the parents concenred BUT can anyone with teenage children go away for a week and seriously expect nothing to happen?

What worries me is that they don't know what their kids are up to and what makes them tick. I do not intrude into what they are up to but I am streets ahead of them 95% of the time mainly due to the fact that I am aware of what kids get up to.

.My children are very well behaved but I could not go away for a week. Sadly it is everyone else. They would have a few mates for a private gathering and before you knew it half the idiots would be around trying to gatecrash. I live in Bucks and most of my kids friends are millionaires. They are the worst, believe me. I know of 2 examples of trashing on the same level as the one in the news. I cannot believe the sheer levels of stupidity of some of my kid's friend's parents particularly as they hold such high jobs and supposedly intelligent.

They certainly have no knowledge of the world they live in!

Thank goodness I only have a few more years of teenagers (sorry other people's teenagers!)

When I was in high school a girl had a party while her parents were away. A stranger showed up and stayed until everyone else was gone. Then he killed the girl and set the house on fire.

The girl had been in one of my classes. It was very sobering to walk in to class Monday morning and see her empty chair.

This was 25 years ago, but I still feel the horror of it. The girl in the news was LUCKY that all the gate crashers did was trash her house. It could have been a lot worse.

I guess it doesn't matter what country or what year, teenagers are going to be stupid and reckless.
Last year one of the kids around the corner invited twenty plus their 'one's' to her party at house. Parents came back at Midnight to find the local 'old bill' had set up processing point on their neighbours drive and the hundreds that turned up were only allowed to leave having told their name address etc. When the onslaught arrived - the kid barricaded herself and guests in the house and called neighbours and the police to help her. Don't think she'll be in a rush to have another. The Offie had a record night tho'.
Every cloud has a silver lining.
i had party once wjilst my mum was away and car windows got smashed needless to say i was punished.i`m only 26 and i think that my kids will eventually have partys i just like to think that they won`t be as daft as to post it on the internet, i mean how stuppid was that girl? i hope her parents made her pay being so disrespectful but as a teen you don`t see it that way.
