DNA Testing Companies

Has anyone had any experience with DNA tests? I was told by my doctor that the best option was to find a company on the internet but there are just soooo many companies offering this service I dont know who to choose. There is also a big difference in some of the prices and I wondered if the cheap ones meant that they are not as accurate as the more expensive ones.

My problem is that my potential father lives in Canada so I need to find a company that deals with overseas. Also I only need the personal test, not the legal one if that makes any difference.
