Well, I Came out to my mum 2 months ago as being gay.
And i have to say.. It couldn't of gone any worse
She is trying to force me to get a girlfriend.. and i really don't find girls attractive. she also wont listen to what i have to say.. Please help. I'm not sure if i got this in the right topic area :S My dad seems okay about it, he has said some very nice things to me when mum was out of the house. He said he is fine about it and don't let my mum be a barrier in my life :)
I was just wondering if there was anything i could say/do to make my mum accept me

Just tell your mum, you will know the right girl for you......and just carry on with whom you feel most comfortable with.

all you can do is remain true to yourself. sad as it may be you can never change the views of others unless they themselves are open to change. Be patient with her she is struggling with the news too and has her own issues to deal with around it, particularly given she will ahve expected you to marry have kids etc. The more you try to persuade her the more she may resist. Give her space stop trying to make her accept your sexuality. The most important thing is you accept it and enjoy life and be safe. Sometimes we cant change others we can only change how we respond. Good luck

My son was in turmoil a few years ago and I asked him if he was gay. The relief on his face at that question will always stay with me. I don't have a problem at all with his sexuality. But his father doesn't know. And we are not going to tell him. He has voiced his homophobia on many occasions.
Neither of us is keen to 'test the water' with him, so it's left. The danger obviously, is that he, and I, may face big problems if we do tell him and he does not accept him.
I don't like the situation. But I don't have a crystal ball to judge the outcome if we tell him. I dream of the day he knows and it isn't the problem I fear.
So, he has one parent who accepts, like you. But is spared the difficulties of having one parent who doesn't.
I know we cannot make my hubby accept if he doesn't feel he can. And I can't think of anything you can do to make your mum change her feelings.
Perhaps in time, with help from your lovely dad, it will change. In the mean time worry about yourself and your adjustment, and be very thankful for your dad. And keep a friend of your mum if you can. I'm sure she can't help her feelings, and wishes like you she can accept.
