The atmosphere was, ahem, different. There was my family, my exes family, the stepmother's family, the stepmother's exes family, including all the sets of grandparents. My mate just sat there wetting herself with laughter..............
When I was married my wife's son's father was nowhere in sight, so no problem there and my first ex wife didn't care if her kids lived or died so never visited either- this year I'm visiting my kids at my ex's house in Germany, and although logistically it can be a bit trying I think it's going to be nice... hope so anyway.

It's not too bad for me but I do feel sorry for my daughter cos everyone wants to see her. She'll be at her dad's in the morning with him and his partner, then they'll have to see partner's mum and her grandparents on dad's side. Then home to me to open presents and possibly see my in laws depending on time. Then round to my parents for dinner and getting to see my sister, BIL, granny, aunts, uncles and cousins. It's a busy day for her and sometimes I think she'd rather just have a quiet one, but everyone else kicks up such a fuss as she's the only grandchild on both sides of the family.
