hi im a 30 year old male and my wife says that im to old for a model railway is this true ,should i just accept that i am to ild and forget it ????????

Simon -- if you want a model railway -- get one. I am more than twice your age and play with my doll's house often.Why because I loved it as a child and still do.

You only get one ticket in life-- so do it--- does it matter in the grand scheme of things , what others may think?

So if you want a train set -- then go for it and enjoy.
