I think what you should really give him is a visit to a doctor !
Yes, I think you need to see a Doctor or if this is difficult you could try NHS Direct 0845 46 47.  I would give the child a bottle of water with a powder you buy from the chemist that prevents dehydration.  It comes in flavours or plain. I am sorry I can't remember the name:  electro something.  But the chemist will know I am sure.
electrolytes.
These mixes are basically water with added salt and sugar.
Advice from my GP some years ago - only when there is obvious serious problem - so def give him a call.

Take 1 apple and using pestle and mortor grind into a mush and spon feed.

The worst case scenario is the child will need admitting to hospital for drip feeding to rehydrate.
Dehydration is the thing to avoid at all costs so YES you should give water - boiled and cooled.
Milk is the worst thing to give to a vomiting person of any age as it only makes you vomit more.

I would phone your GP for a home visit - failing that,  take him to the local hospital.

P.S. I hope he feels better soon -x-
do you have emetrol where you are at? that helps with nausea. its safe for kids and pregnant women.
Diarolyte (sp) is the powder you can buy from the chemist to prevent dehydration, if you give it to your child a teaspoon or 2 at a time, it will make sure it stays down.
That stuff from the chemist already mentioned, or failing that, cooled boiled water in spoon amounts fairly frequently.  If that stays down a tiny bit of salt and or sugar in the water.  Repeat for 24 hours.  Best of all see a GP

How's your little one today criscal?

thanks so much for asking, smudge. He's a lot better today thanks. After a spew filled day yesterday, I telephoned nhs direct in the end and they advised: an ounce of water every 15 minutes, as long as he keeps it down. If he's managing to keep it down after two hours give him the same of milk then very small amounts of bland food.

he downed every scrap of water and then gave me the bottle back saying "More Mummy, pweeeese!!"

After a while, he got his dry toast. I had to watch him eat it as he enjoyed every mouthful SO much! He kept nodding at me saying "Mmmm, nice!"

By teatime he had some chicken soup and a few ounces of milk at bedtime. So far so good!

He slept a lot today which will do him good. Say what you like about the nhs - that phone service is great!

give him the bottle... all babys need a drink every now and then. i recomend Carling, my baby seems to like that
Your welcome crisgal - I'm so pleased he's on the mend, bless him -xx-

The nurse at my GP's once said to me that she used to work in a hospital and they did an experiment once where all the children who were being sick were put into 2 categories. They starved group A and fed group B as normal. She said the only difference in the results was that the fed kids complained less of bad tummies than the hungry children, the sickness wasn't effected.

Hmm.
