ohh I assume you're the younger of the two of you? For some reason it's bigger siblings job to mean to their younger brothers and sisters. I should know I've had a big brother all my life :0)

Maybe you can think up some snappy remarks in advance, if there is a pattern to what he says or simply just ignore him. When he's mean go away, pretend you dont' hear him etc. The reason I say that you should ignore him is that being mean is only funny as long as it gets noticed. Every time you react to something he does or says, it gets funnier for him.

If he's being really mean and do stuff that hurts, tell your mum and dad!

I can tell you that it gets much better with time, if that is any comfort.

Try to get your mum and dad to listen to your complaints, and act on them. I just got more bitter with time, I haven't spoken to my brother for about 15 years and have no real wish to. This all stemmed from his nastieness when we were kids, and I resent the fact now as much as I did then, that I don't have the relationship that brothers should have. He needs to be made to realise how much he's hurting you.

If you can't talk to him, maybe you could write him a letter, telling him how you feel. Ask him to think about when you are both grown up - how will he feel when all you remember is how mean he was to you? Remind him that you are both making your childhood memories right now, and it would be nice to have some happy ones.

It worked for me and made my brother feel very guilty. we have a great relationship now!

You cant stop ip ... its natural selection.

Take you beats and learn to live with it ;0)

I'm afraid to say my brother was a little b*stard right up until I left home, so that's from once we were old enough to argue right up until I was 18 and it included physical fights. His favourite trick was repeatedly punching me on the edge of my forearm bone while he held it still! It wasn't that bad when we were the same size but when he got to about 14 (I'm a year older) and he was built like a rugby player it was no fun at all. He cottoned on that hitting me and then shouting that I'd hit him was a great idea. He was the youngest and favourite and appeals to parents made no difference at all as they always took his side. I don't know if you have that problem but if you do you soon learn just to stay out of his way as much as possible.

It does get better once you don't have to live together honestly.
