I don't think your 5 year old would be any different.
If it were me, I'd take it. If you don't you'll wish you had! At least its there if you need to use it but I agree with Woofgang - maybe you need to make sure he fits in it!
Hope you have a fantastic holiday.
Back today and had a fantastic holiday thanks! Little man had a brilliant time. He slept for 3/4 hours every afternoon and stayed up to about 11pm and had a constant smile on his face! It was very much a family holiday - with a kids' club that closed at 10pm! We didn't actually out him in the club in the end because he was an absolute joy to be with - he had oodles of fun making friends with Dutch, German, French, Russian and local (Turkish) children - and played with them up until bedtime. He also enjoyed the huge amount of attention he got off the waiters in the restaurants at night!
One thing I didn't make clear was that we stayed in an all inclusive family complex with three bars and two discos (one childrens' and one adult).
I would really recommend this an option as you can stay out until they are ready to go home without a walk back or taxi ride.
We used the buggy at the airport and it as a blessing, especially as we were picked up at 1.30am and we were delayed until 6am. He didn't want to use it at night as he liked running back to the hotel and showing off his flashing trainers!
It's gone in the attic now for baby two...:))
Hi, I come from a mediterranean country and I can tell you take the buggy and enjoy yourself. Before moving to the UK for work reasons we had a really good life as children are accepted everywhere; evenmost 5 star restaurants have high chairs, so we used to take our son practically everywhere. I guess a lightweight buggy would be ok as it gets very hot during the day, especially at midday, and it is not healthy to let young children walk and sweat in that heat, as they get dehydrated very quickly, not to mention heat stroke. In the evening families keep going out long after 9 pm and restaurants are usually open much later than that, especially but the seaside. You can see families out with buggies up until midnight. Children in Mediterranean countries are generally treated as part of the family and not little beings who should be relegated to bed at 7:30 pm so the adults can have a life of their own. Besides in summer it is too hot to be in bed at that time!!! Have fun!!
