I have just found out i am pregnant (hurrah!) but my partner - who will be delighted when he finds out - is up a mountain somewhere in South America.

Now obviously I have left the 'call me straight away, don't worry nothing bad' message via email and his phone (he text me before he went up a mountain) but his phone is off and he hasn't rung yet. Its driving me mad as I don't want to tell anyone else (ie my mum) until he knows but he isn't back home until next monday!!!!!

I COULD try and contact via the travel company but i don't think it constitutes an emergency.. advice please?!!!

i know. i am not a very patient or secretive kind of girl. usually everyone knows my business and i am going to have to keep it to myself for a while!!!

have kept the pregnancy kit, maybe i will just bring it to the airport when i meet him...

thats a nice idea, tell him you have a present and give it to him in a watch type of box.

Congratulations!!!

If you're desperate to tell him, then contact the travel company - who cares whether they think its an emergency or not!

If it was me though (and it was this time last year!) then I'd wait and tell him face to face. As happy as he'd be finding out that he's going to be a father on top of a mountain, he'll hate the fact he can't give you a hug.

All the best, Lissy xxx

First of all, Congratulations!!
I guess a normal phone wont work up a mountain in South America! I dont blame you for wanting to tell everybody, especially your partner. It does seem right that if possible, he knows first.

In your shoes, yes I would contact the travel company. Why not? You have nothing to loose. Whats the worse case? He cant be contacted? As long as you ring up at a sensible time, Id like to think they would understand.
Good luck

Thank you for all your advice. I contacted travel co who said that he will be in the city part (ie contactable) on Weds. So at least this means I can stop checking my phone every 10 minutes!!!!

I am leaning towards telling him at the airport but I know me, and I am not that good at keeping secrets so we shall see. Its so hard though, as if I didn;t miss him enough already...

Still, it will be a great story to tell the baby - "Daddy was up a mountain when Mummy found out she was going to have you..."

good luck!! let us know what you do!!

You told him yet?! xxx
