you can buy clips that hold the dummy one end and clips on the clothing at the other. I did wonder whether it would be a good idea at night, but remember the cord in between to be too short to be a danger. Alternatively, you could do what my nephew does and sleep with 4 dummies in his bed so that he can always put his hand on at least one of them.

The best thing would be to get rid of it. My daughter loved her dummy but once kids start waking in the night for it you are in for permanently disturbed nights. We went "cold turkey" which was a nightmare for about 2 days and then she was fine.

Probably not what you wanted yo hear though!

I agree with eeeeek. Rod for own back these dummies. Seen some 5 year olds wondering round with them in their mouths!! Go cold turkey I reckon or try and introduce them to their thumb.
sellotape? ;-)

It won't be long before he can pop it back in himself. I like the idea of having several available, though!

For my sons, from the age of about 20 months the rule was "dummies are for bedtimes only" which meant neither of them were walking around trying to talk with a lump in their mouths. It also was a rule that could be bent for nasty things like injections, or feeling unwell.

Personally, I found the extra sleep given by dummies was worth the slight cost & inconvenience!
