why not try a day of no juice, and instead give him organic milk or water (or very dilute organic fruit juice).   If he's not "off the wall" then you'll know the juice is to blame.  I'd always try to avoid anything with additives, e numbers etc and only give the purest juice I could find.  If you already do this, then there's not much chance that the juice is to blame.  You say he "is always wanting juice"....have you spoken to your doctor or health visitor about his excessive thirst?  Let us know how you get on.  Good luck.
It rather depends on what sort of juice you are giving him. It is well documented that some juices have effects on children.
By the way not all e numbers are bad for you. Some natural products were given e numbers, and some additives are actually good for you.
It is often the colouring that causes problems, so maybe cutting out added colourings and then re-introducing slowly 1 at a time will help you find out what exactly causes the problems.
Brightly coloured sweets could be another cause.
Good luck.
My eldest son had a problem with something in some drinks and sweets, though I never did find out exactly what it was. he couldn't have any coloured fizzy drinks (though he was okay with lemonade), nor could he have chewits, tootie frooties or astros (though he was okay with smarties - if he had the wrong thing he'd be running round the walls and in a foul temper. I'd try a different juice and see what happens. With my son it was just a process of elimination.
could also be simply an excess of sugar? Not sure that artificial sweeteners are good for kids either
there is an ingridient called taurine that is present in a lot of juices, used to make my brother climb the walls!
squash can definately cause them to be hyper try diluted fresh juice, or my kids favourite milk shake.
sorry not taurine (thinking of red bull doh!) its tetrazine you should look out for on the juice.

It is possible that if you are giving him pure orange juice he may be reacting to it. I know a child who reacts strongly to orange in any form, so he wouldn't be the first!

Try and give him other things for 3 or 4 days, as suggested. For the purposes of the experiment, it could be a different fruit squash, such as blackcurrant.

The other helpful thing is to keep a diary, putting in an assessment of his mood, maybe on a 1 to 10 basis, and any other factors such as colds or stress and see if any pattern emerges.

Good luck.
