I've just found out that I'm pregnant and I'm wondering if it's safe to have my hair relaxed as there are loads of chemicals in it.

Do you mean hair straitening?
Whoops I mean straightening!

Yes, sorry I should have explained it means straightening.
When I was pregnant my doctor said NO! But that was 7 yrs ago Ask your Dr.

Thank you for your reply. I think I'll have braids for now.
Better to be conservative.

I have bleached blonde hair and when i was pregnant i asked my midwife if it was ok to bleach my hair and she said yes - this was 4 years ago so I would just ask your midwiwfe (or use straighteners LOL)

as a hair drsser i would say NO. as your body is changing so much with hormones etc it would be difficult to know how your hair would react to the chemicals. hope this helps
