This can be a tough one, I know this sounds obvious but have you had his throat checked if he has a throat infection - even a mild one that is causing loads of discomfort this could be the reason alternatively it could be teeth!!!!!!!!!! As for getting him to stop it's a bit complicated but i wouldn't nag him about it as this tends to make it worse - distraction is the key.

Good luck.

I don't think that its deliberate or a habit, it is usually, as Wani has said, a problem with the mouth ot throat. What does the doc say?

Yeah I have taken him to the GP and there are no throat and adenoid problems He also has all his teeth so I have ruled those suggestions out thank you.

I think he is just too lazy to swallow - he does not dribble when he is asleep.

I don't have a clue what to do really.

back to GP and ask for specialist review! The saliva swallow is a reflex action, you CANNOT be too lazy to do it!!
My son also dribbles a lot as he has huge tonsils and the dribble cannot get past his tonsils so it comes forward instead. I give him a hanky for school, so he can wipe his mouth. I also told him that if anybody commented on his wet mouth, to say he had big tonsils, hope this helps
