I live in Greece and am having severe health problems with my 5 year old daughter Sofia.Every time she has a cold, temperature etc she starts to vomit. That I can accept, but once she has started vomiting she cannot stop. Her stomach won't tolerate even the smallest amounts of fluid and 5 times since May she has ended up in hospital being rehydrated -it is the only way we can get it to stop! All of her blood tests have come back clear although ,understandably she is very underweight. She can't tolerate ANY medicine, not even paracetamol apart from suppositories so it makes it difficult to ward off anything that may set her off! The peadiatricians are at a loss here? Any ideas anyone?

Poor you, poor Sofia. People come from all over the world to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London. Can you get her seen there or can your doctors consult with experts there?

I agree with woofgang. you really should try a hospital in the uk, preferably one of the large childrens hospitals.

your daughter may have some bacterium or bug within her digestive system that reacts everytime she is not feeling well - especially as she is ok with suppositories.

Perhaps more tests carried out at a hospital specialising in childhood illnessess would confirm the problem and any treatment be started. I know it may be difficult but the main priority is getting to the cause of Sofia's problem and hopefully getting her well and prevent any future difficulties.

Please keep us informed of how things go. best wishes.
