in the first 3 months of my pregnancy i was exhausted most of the time - and also in the last 3 months..i used to have to have an afternoon nap every day ! I think it sounds normal as everyone is affected differently, however if your friend is worried she should speak to her health visitor....
first trimester is the sleepiest one, if she needs the rest let her have it. She has an amazing thing happening inside of her no wonder she os tired.
I use to finish work at half 5 have dinner and go to bed at 6 and sleep till 8 in the morning this is how i knew i was pregnant i had just come back from a lovely lazy holiday and couldn't believe why i felt so so tired it was horrible i could not keep my eyes open for nothing, so definatly dont worry let her sleep its completly normal and soon she wont be getting much at all make the most of it i say
it is very normal! I was exactly the same at the beginning of my pregnancy, then in the middle you seem to be able to do anything! then as kimbro states the last 3 months are very tiring too! make the most of the sleep i say!

With my first child I slept 18 hours a day for the first 4 months, then the doctor put me on iron tablets and it seemed to help, I was on them up until I had the baby. She may need some iron tell her to talk to her doctor.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and totally shattered. I was just the same with my first one except probably moreso this time as I have the first one (now 3) to run round after all day and I work late at night!! But yes, often I will be found getting my head down for a kip during the day (when daughter is at nursery).

Roll on the second trimester!!

I can confirm that, too.

Mostly people say it will get better after month three, but I am not at the end of month four and could still sleep all day long...

:o(

yes, totally normal. I felt really tired until well into my fourth month. Ohh how I miss those little kips on the couch after work......no chance now with a 2 year old in tow!!!

There is an Irish tale to describe the joys of pregancy - You spend

three months weary

three months cheery

and three months dreary!!
