My daughter for some reason is never happy with what she wears to school. I am not a very trendy dresser myself, but I do dress her nice. Is this normal?

Both girls and boys can go through this phase and believe me, it only gets worse! Life is so much easier when they wear school uniform.

Perhaps a compromise for school would be for you to offer her two suitable choices of outfits and let her pick which one she wears. I'm sure she would love the responsibility of choosing her own clothes instead of having a grown up decide. It wouldn't matter if the outfits were near identical as long as she could choose. A further compromise (or bribe) would be to tell her that you choose what she wears for school but she can choose what she wears after school or on a weekend.Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, but unfortuntely I've tried the picking of two or more outfits the night before, and she still gets upset. I could see if she dressed in rags why she would be upset, but we buy her nice clothes. I just did'nt know if this was normal or not.

Does she choose her own clothes when you shop or do you choose them for her? If she chooses her own then I'm at a loss as to where you can go, but if you choose them for her then maybe you should let her do it, you know say we need 3 pairs of trousers which ones do you want to buy? We've always done that with our little ones since they were old enough to do it (about 3) and haven't really had any "I don't like it" tantrums.Hope you manage to get it sorted out :)
make sure no one is teasing her about her clothes
