It seems to be the fashion at the moment to use original names and I am not keen on any of the new made up names when there are so many nice old fashioned names to choose from (god!! I sound like a right old fuddy duddy)
Why not drop the den yourself and start calling him Jay. It's been a shortening of Jason and around for years. Other people will shorten his name and call him Jay anyway over the years.
I thought that by calling my daughter Zoe, it wouldn't be shortened but more than one pearson has called her Zo!
I love the name Jay ~ I wanted it for my son but hubby didn't like it :o(
If you aren't sure you made the right decision then maybe (as has been suggested) you can shorten it ~ if you like Jay, of course! I have often wondered if I made the right choice of names for my children, but I still couldn't think of the children named anything else ~ I know some people do go the whole hog and change names. I believe that you can change a childs name in the first year of birth (unles the law has changed). But you may find you have got used to Jayden's name & can't imagine him being known as anything else!
BTW, Jayden goes well with your surname...
Good luck :o)
acorn, fashion statement meaning babies born these days with celeb parents names that are gimmick, well alot of parents these days especially teenagers give gimmick names, ie summer, trixebell etc, my view yes i said my view is jayden is gimmicky, wee-angel named their baby this and thats all that matters. the question said what do you think, i answered, its not my cup of tea.
ps i,ve never heard of a jayden, apologies if i,m not up to date
