Head Lice & Tea Tree Shampoo

Hi There

I've read somewhere that Tea Tree Shampoo would prevent Head Lice on children. My daughters 2 years old, is there a Tea Tree Shampoo for little ones, if so where can I buy it?

Hi Top cat. You can buy it from boots, also you can get a spray which can be used to top up in between shampoos. It's no use if the lice are already present though. I am having a constant battle at the moment with my two girls seem to be lice free for about a week then it's back. It's driving me nuts!

Having the same trouble here with our kids too....we use the old conditioner and comb through method and get them all clear...then as soon as they are back at school they get them again......only taks one set of parents not to bother and its a vicious circle

Hi.

You can buy Tea Tree shampoo from the Body Shop and Boots, try and buy the best you can afford. Not especially made for children but if you use it every other day it won't do any harm. Also try adding a little neat Tea Tree oil into a water bottle spray and just spray your daughters hair every morning with a light misting.

loads of conditioner and a comb works best I think, they can't hang on to conditioner, definately clears it, until the next time ...arrgh!

hi you can buy the tea tree shampoo from most shops and health stores. i recommend that you use the shampoo and conditioner as it is very effective. my son who is 3 used to mix with a child who had nits constantly and i used this and he never got them. my mum also used it on my sister (who is now 17) and it worked wonders for her too. it also makes the hair soft and easy to manage.
