Childrens parties
can anyone tell me where I can buy ( apart from the internet ) party boxes for party food ? also does anyone know if party boxes are the best way to provide food at a 4th birthday party or should I just put all the food on a table ( buffet style ) - all suggestions will be gratefully received !!

I usually get streamers and decorate the table with them. Unless you are providing food you know that every child will like it's usually best to let them pick their own!
I had the same dilemma for our 6 yearolds party on Saturday as I liked the idea of being able to have them ready in a box. I like, you have older children (now 14 & 15) and the last two years we've used Whacky warehouse (for the now 6 yearold obviously!) So I haven't done a hall party for years. I have noticed at some I've been to that there is a lot of waste when it's buffet style, apart from one where all the cakes etc were the individually wrapped type (but more expensive? maybe not in the long run as they were taken home). I have now bought the boxes from a local paper merchants (trade & public) for 2 for 10. Someone suggested putting sandwiches in that arn't too smelly i.e not egg or tuna, but then this limits choice and as you say what if the kids don't like it. So I have decided to prefill the box with a sausage roll, bag of crisp type/ mini cheddar snack, a cheesy thing, a chocolate/cake bar and serviette and have platters of sandwiches to add to each kids box, and some individual jellies in pots that I've been saving at work. I wanted to do a big pan of hotdogs with buns in unlimited supply but left it too late to make sure everyone would eat hotdogs, anyway the boxes and plates price wise were the same. Good luck with yours. If anyone tells me I should be putting fruit in the boxes...I know I should.
