Has anyone on here used Lilypadz breast pads and if so do they work?! I am going to breastfeed when our baby is born and I have seen these pads on the internet, I just wondered if it was worth forking out the 15 for them as I don't know if they really work and I don't want to throw money down the drain as we need every penny at the moment, lol! I have bought a box of disposable pads but have no idea how much a woman leaks when she breastfeeds...
Cheers :O)

I just bought cheap disposible ones, if you leak a lot just use two. Though the first couple of days when my milk first came in there was so much I got a newborn nappy in half and used that lol. Congratulation :-)
"CUT" a nappy in half even lol (so much for the preview)
I now I shouldn't say this, but I wouldn't bother (and I didn't!) with washable breast pads at the beginning.

Trust me, you will be using quite a lot of them and coupled with the other washing you will be doing for bubba you really don't need the hassle! I had a friend who bought the washable ones and they tended to shrink after a few washes...

Washable ones may be good after a time ~ maybe if you intend to breastfeed for a long time and your baby is only on 2 or 3 feeds a day (once solids are introduced)

I was quite a 'leaker' for a long time, and there's nothing worse than a soggy breastpad!
My other thought would be to see how you get on with breast feeding, I found it very difficult with my son and didn't get past 5 days - so wouldn't have wanted to spend 15 on washable pads! I did breast feed my daughter for 3 months, but didn't leak significantly and found disposable ones to be perfectly adequate, not needing to change them that frequently. As Pippa68 says, you don't need the extra pressure of having to get your breast pads washed and dried ready to go out!!
Good luck with the baby!
Hi, I have 5 children and breast fed them all and i have tried every breast pad under the sun and can recommend for comfort and leak proof Johnstons they are fantastic especially if you have sore nipples. If your just a home and able to change frequently use Tescos own make. I hope this helps.
Not having any children myself, I am totally unqualified to answer this, but what a good use for all those sanitary towels you won't be needing for a while??!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'll go back under my stone now and punish myself.

Best wishes to you and your baby.
I don't think anyone who replied to Schlomo 78 realizes that the Liltpadz are made of silicon.
The question surely was to anyone who has used the Lilypadz.
Good luck with the breastfeeding :>)

Ah, I neglected to mention that they are indeed made of silicon and are supposed to stop the leaking in the first place so they don't fill up, they look kinda like those 'party feet' things you put in your shoes to stop your feet hurting, and app you just wash them under the tap etc...Thanks to everyone for their comments tho, much appreciated!!
