I may be 2 months gone and have only just found out so i may have put the feotus in danger.
I have a cat and a dog and clean their mess every day, i don't remember using bare hands to do this but i am concerned that i may have without realising. Also my niece was over a week ago and then caught Chicken Pox which meant she was contagious at the time she visited, i did'nt have direct contact with her but my son did so i am worried that he or i may catch this and if i do the feotus will be endangered.
I also have been feeling weak and tired and i can't remember what foods to avoid during pregnancy. Can anyone remind me?
Also can i have nuts, or long life milk?
Thanks

You will get tired during the first few months its nature's way of telling you to slow down.
I think you need to talk to your midwife about diet as I remember there was not much you had to avoid except alcohol and smoking
The pet thing there is an illness you can catch from cats but your doctor can do a blood test to check it is most unlikely but make sure you wash your hand even when you have been petting your cat. Keep them off worksurface etc

Hi There, congratulations on your pregnancy. First off, the Toximopolisis (thingy), you can get a test at your doctors (I had to get this test, as I WAS in direct contact with my MIL cats poo before I found out I was pregnant.
Secondly, yes use gloves, but it can also be airborne, but only if left and not cleaned up. And only if the cat and dog has Toximopolsis in the first place. They can be innoculated against this I think.
Thirdly stuff not to eat, don't eat any unpasturised coleslaw/mayo etc, and I think you also have to limit your Tuna intake. Liver is also a no no...
Hope this helps.
