whats in place instead of the csa? my friends ex has just got in touch and is causing problems, (afer 9 years of not wanting to know) she wants to get the csa involved but we think ist been disbanded

No, it's still the CSA, at least it was last week when I saw my friend who works for them (I know - boo, hiss).

God knows how many billions have been put in to help the CSA function properly, yet thousands of children are still going without their money....errant fathers are still getting away scot free & doting fathers who go bankrupt trying to make ends meet are still being treated like $hit or ignored, simply so that the CSA can still make at least a little bit of money to help pay of the DSS paid out each year.

thanks for your answers i will pass the info on, Pippa i agree with you I don't have kids but have friends who have been treated like sh1t by them (csa) especially the dad's who just want to be good dad's its so unfair. In this instance my friends ex had left the country and when he got back he told her that she wasn't to get in touch as he didn;t want anything to do with her or his daughter, now 9 years on he's changed his mind and is threatening all sorts,being extremely vile and i thinks she's decided this is the first step for her.

im really sorry but i love the csa without them my ex husband would have got away scot free without providing anything for his kids as he doesnt bother to see them or contact them at all and do you know the funny thing is HE wanted to start a family. Appreciate it has been crap for others hope your friend is ok

wow blueheaven...you got a letter from csa...how rare! i havnt had a penny of the dad of my little boy for 3 yrs now! to me the csa are total waste of time, and infact cause more upset due to their inability to help me....so i have to go without and bring my son up of fresh air...GRRRRrr
