Parents who don`t care.
I was at my local supermarket yesterday. As I was going around there were 3 kids running riot. Their father was standing there watching them & laughing. I almost knocked one of them with my trolley, but he just laughed. I gave him a hell of a look. They were there again on the fruit isle & I could n`t believe it when he told the kids " Go & help yourselves to some grapes if you want ". I was absolutely disgusted. He`ll be wondering in a few years why the cops are bringing them home after catching them shoplifting.

sorry beejaybee!! in answer to your post i think it is out of order parents letting their children run wild, i have a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old and i would never let them behave that way!! i'm hoping i've brought them up with some respect.
like you say if they have no bounderies enforced then they will get brought home by the police on regular occasions and the parents will wonder why!! xXx

lol i do seem to have peed people off today!
I would agree with you if i had meant to be rude, however i truly could not see what the "questioner" was asking us? To just mumble our agreement with the state of parenting today? To ask us if we think it's alright to eat grapes in the supermarket? Are fathers better parents? Do you get a better class of screaming brat in sainsburys than asda?
i just didn't know what i was supposed to be commenting on, and if the poster had just said what it was they wanted answering on i would have done!
I do know the difference between a question and an opinion, but this is a question and answer site isn't it? Not a have a rant and agree with me site And as to who do i think think i am, well i'm just a person. Again, as i answered naz last week, i wasn't aware you has to "be" someone in order to give a view here, or do you have to be in a clique to do so? I do not personally think i AM rude, as i never resort to name calling or anything like that (unlike some) and i never tell people to get a life, take a chill pill etc just because they don't agree with me. Wouldn't this site be boring if everyone agreed? There would only ever be the need for 1 answer to every question then, where's the fun in that eh?

Lastly, i dont understand how asking someone to clarify their question by saying "what is your question?" can be misconstrued as rude, holier than thou, or ignorant, as it seems a perfectly reasonable way to clarify what someone wants comments on, or to remind someone theyve left something out of their post
And then look at these replies...

sorry but if you think those answers are rude and ignorant or holier than thou then i just cant understand you .. out of the 1671 q's ive answered you can only find 4 where you might not agree with me? (btw you have repeated one twice)
I personally think i was giving good advice to the girl with leather trousers as it involved me trawling through information to bring it to her .. and as for the history and myths one .. well if someone could explain to me why a cat wanting to go out in the middle of the night IS to do with h&m it would help me understand the q a bit more!

sorry to completely hijack your post, beejaybee, but kazza12345, I could find a fair few more than 4 I just don't have the time to copy and paste them all.
I wouldn't say you think you are holier than thou, just that you seem very quick to jump in and be dismissive of someone's question and you are often very abrupt and tactless in how you reply.
I don't know why you are so surprised, it's not the first time people on AB have said this of you.

i am surprised because i thought people valued individualism, and getting a range of answers may be important. i am also surprised that people think "wouldn't it be nice if everyone was nice" rather than valueing diversity. I am constantly surprised that people want me to moderate what i think and believe in order to fit in with their view of the world
no one is asking you to moderate your beliefs. your opinion is valued when you actually have one as opposed to being AB police and telling people where to post and what they should say!! you say you should be allowed to say what you think so why should the people posting the questions be made to feel like they can't say what they want!! without you telling them it is wrong or they are in the wrong section!! bit hypocritical don't you think??
back to the subject.....
I too, am fed up with the amount of kids that run riot around the place. with their language and behaviour it drives me bananas. I see a lot of it where I live. I'm 23 and have a little girl and I will not tolerate bad behaviour from her. I think that manners are everything and I try to bring her up to ensure that she respects people. It is hard though when the kids down the road are breaking up bits of wood and chucking them in the street, or kicking their parents and calling them wan*ers. aarrrrggghhhhhh!

i point people to the right sections because if it were just a free for all here, it would be impossible to pick out the questions that interest you. I used to enjoy body and soul (as i assume that is what you are referring to: not this question at all) but now it isn't questions about body and soul is it? As i said, noone would consider posting junk rubbish in money and finance or home and garden, so i just wonder why b&s has been ruined? It would have made much more sense for that person to apologise on the original thread, if they really were woried they'd upset that person. What seems hypocritcal to me that someone who is concerned with my rudeness in posts has to be very rude to me to get it across!
