has just dropped him off here, and she is complaining that his dad, (my eldest son) has told him that Adam and Eve had two kids and that one strangled the other. What do you think i should say to her?

It is true she complained about my son telling him the story of cain and abel, and it is true she seems to have no idea that Adam and Eve had kids, what i want to know is what should i say to her? Should i say, 'go away you dozy think woman' ? or should i buy her a Bible for Christmas?
Print this out for her and send it home with grandson!

Tell her never to read that rubbish fantasy novel ... give her a decent James Herbert or some Tolkein.
beg your pardon ... i mean 'him'
How old is your grandson? Maybe she feels he's a little young to be exposed to the more violent biblical tales?

Or perhaps she doesn't particularly want him exposed to *any* religious stories until he's old enough to understand what religion is. Many parents nowadays prefer their children to have a secular upbringing.

If your grandson is old enough to cope with stories about brothers murdering each other then she's possibly over-reacting. Either way, it's probably best if you have a word with your son and get him to dicuss the matter with her. I know it's tough to bite your tongue in these cases but it's really up to the child's parents to decide on his cultural upbringing.
well he was taught it at his Church School and he is 7 years old, and so educational professionals appear to think it is fine.

It might help to talk about the principle behind it about not hurting other people and being kind etc. rather than elaborate on the negative.
