during past week my 6 month old baby has started waking up every other hour whereas before he used to wake up only once or twice during the night. he is teething a little bit but seems to be waking up because he's hungry. he often has whole bottle before he goes back to sleep again.i don't know whether to change him onto second stage milk.health visitor told me to keep baby on 1st stage milk for as long as possible but is this a time when you would change?please help.....a v tired new mum
hi when my baby was 6 months i moved her onto the next stage milk, he definatly sounds like he needs it. and maybe increase the solids you are giving him. also when my baby was waking up i would offer water instead and then milk if water didn't work. sometimes the milk is more of a comfort and they get used to getting it to help them back to sleep.
good luck!! it does get easier!
My wife breast fed until 6 months and then we were told to go straight onto the stage 3 formula by our health visitor, despite being told by other people to stay on stage 1 until 12 months.
