urination issues

My son is 31/2 and has developed a nasty habbit of peeing on the floor in every room of the house, going out of his way to do it purposfully. what is going on????

Its almost certainly for attention. My little boy did this and we totally ignored it, this proved quite hard for my husband to do! and after a few days he just did it on the loo.

He's just marking his territory. He's sensed that you're up the duff again and doesn't want the sorny offspring muscling in on his turf. Next he'll start marking 'his' possessions - expect to come home to find him lagging all over your Sony 40" HD ready plasma tv anytime now...

I agree it is attention seeking and the best thing is to ignore it. My friend's son did something very similar but he eventually grew out of it. Of course by then he was 26 and working in a bank but hopefully you'll be more successful.

take him reguraly to the toilette! on the hour do not make a issue or show him that you are cross.
the little child just requires a lot more guidance and to learn to "control" his bladder.
Praise him well if he pee in the loo or uses a potty.
stay with him he may be scare to use the loo.
Another thing has he develop a urinary tract infection?
has he been unwell? is there stress within the family?
if it continues prob needs a check up query infection?
increase the fluid during the day, stop fluid at least 1 hour before bedtime .

Make going to the toilet a fun activity for him, put a ping pong ball in the loo bowl and get him to aim for it as a target, praise him and use a reward chart for when he goes to the loo, try to ignore his behaviour when he pee's elsewhere and gentle but firmly guide him to the toilet every time he does it, that way he will learn he still has to go to the toilet anyway, and most of all try to be patient with him, if you react everytime he does it he knows its a good way to get your attention and will continue to use this behaviour to manipulate you.
