My beautiful 11 month old niece has gone off her food, and her Mum is worrying.
Being her first borne she would like any advice from any other mums out there.
My niece has been teething for several months, and has her first tooth has just broken through.
She normally eats three meals of mushed up food a day, but is refusing them now. She is also taking some persuasion to drink her usual milk.
Does this beahviour ring true with any other mothers? At what point should we start worrying?
Many thanks

speak to your health visitor they will reasure you. Keeping trying different things. My youngest went through a phase like this but i realised she was holding out for the pudding lol. Was told by h.v to stop giving pudding to her and eventually she went back to normal although my anxiety level went through the roof. However every baby is different but i would speak to someone about it if its been going on for awhile. Good luck xx
I agree with pixiepie, when it comes to such youngsters, its usually best to speak to your health visitor.
Saying that though...........does your neice only ever get offered mushed foods? Your sister could try offering her something like a rusk of a toast soldier. Even though she hasnt got the teeth to chew, sometimes they still enjoy have a good old suck! Also chomping on something hard like a rusk will help her with the teething. Also with that in mind, try biccie pegs, theyre designed with teething in mind.

Good luck :)
had forgot about biccie pegs all mine loved them. Been 6yrs since any of mine needed them.psychick is right though offer her things like cheese sticks or toast she would probably like that or at least it might feel good on her gums
Has it been just a few days or longer? if a few days then she might not be as hungry at moment or could be getting a cold.
If its longer then yeah it might be that she's wanting to eat 'real' food, that is when it looks like food, not mush. its fine for babies this age to have lumps and the earlier you give them the more likely they are to eat them later on. my son ate loads of finger foods from about 7 months and he had no teeth til 9 mths. He was eating same food as me by a year, just chopped a little. Its a good idea to eat meals at table with her. let her feed herself and dont worry about mess, make the food look nice on plate, lots of colours and dont worry too much or get cross as it could lead to much worse problems later on. just relax and have fun! ( well tell mum to try all this!) good luck
This is very normal behaviour for most if not all toddlers and infants. From my experiences children eat if and when they are hungry.
try mashed banana, and no nibbles inbetween the meal times
