Hi everyone,my daughter is 5 months and seems to want to crawl but still not getting on her knees yet,is there any way i can help her or just let her get on with it and encourage her from a distance?! My son now 3 was crawling by 5 months, young i know!
Just put toys out of her reach or other things she likes. my eldest didn't crawl till he was 9 months but my youngest did at 19 weeks. They will when they are ready but don't go propping them up in a crawling position til they are ready to do it themselves. When they get to the rocking phase it will be days before they do it.
Lots of time on the floor is about all you can do.
I do put her on the floor alot,it seems when she wants me to pick her up she gives it a good old try to get up and move about.Think im just eager cos my son done it so young and feel shes lagging behind, god talk about pushy parent!!
5 months is very young so try not to push her into it, god knows how much trouble they can get into once they are mobile lol
I agree with GS about putting things just out of her reach maybe to encourage her but dont let her get distressed if she cant do it, she will in her own time.
My son got about by rolling around the room until he could crawl. Oh how i miss the time where i could sit him down and he'd be in exact same spot when i came back.
I know what you mean redcrx,i shouldnt be wishing away her non mobile stage, shell drive me crazy once shes moving about,i do all of the above.Thanx goodsoulette about the massage,i will try defo
Exactly Lee, my friends baby who was 2 months older than my youngest didnt walk till she was nearly 2 and seeing as Evan was running by 8 months, I was superbly jealous.
