My boys are 7 and 6 now and generally go to bed at 8 ish school nights and read for a while - usually until I remember to tell them to put their lights out! That can be as late as 9pm - at weekends it is later and in fact they are still reading now. They usually wake naturally about 7.30 weekdays and 8 on weekends. on a tuesday they go to Judo which doesn't finish until 8.30, so it is a bit later then.
They have always been good sleepers and as babies and toddlers they went to bed between 7 and 7,30 and woke between 6.30 ad 7.30.
When they were under 1, they would go to bed at much the same time, wake around 6am for a feed and go back until 8ish - this suited us as I left for work around 7.30, so I could feed them and put them back to bed and my husband who looked after them daytime and worked evenings, got a bit of a longer lie.

my older three children go to bed at 8pm and get up at 7.30am. my youngest is 2 and a half and she goes to bed at 9pm, sleeps in my bed with me and gets up at 7am. there is no set time for kids. if you are comfortable with the childs routine and the child is coping better with it then you are doing nothing wrong. (i know ill rue the day for letting my one sleep in my bed) but we are all happy so what does it matter, and after all she is my baby!!!!!
my 9 yr old daughter goes bed at 9pm earlier if she wants to play on her nintendo for a bit or read. she gets up at 8am. at weekends she stays up till about 10 and stays in bed till about 9ish.
