Obviously it depends what's in your home made liquidised dinners but unless you're liquidising oven chips and fish fingers then surely fresh, home made food is always better for your baby. No additives etc. Home made food always scores better than processed whether you're a baby or an adult.
I couldnt bring myself to open a jar of shop bought stuff! I don't eat ready meals myself and thats what it is really! So wouldn't give to my children! It's so much cheaper to buy your own veg and to it yourself.

Also they develop a good palet for food and wont need addatives to taste food!

Thats how i see it, im just making a point for my daughter, i never gave either of my children jar foods, but she does. thanks
It would be so easy to prepare too! Frozen veg steamed in a mini steamer & liquidised! make large batch & freeze in icecube trays xxx
Unless you use totally organic products with your homemade foods, I wouldn't be so sure that your liquidised gloop isn't without at least some additives.
jars are very convenient when you're out and about, and let's face it, they must be suitable for babies otherwise they wouldn't be sold as baby food. i fed my 2 sons, now both grown up, on mainly liquidised 'real' food (sunday roast, cottage pie, etc. with loads of veg) but also gave them jar food occasionally too, and they ate both quite happily.
in my opinion, both have their place.
Home made is best, at least then you know exactly what you're putting into your baby. My sisters kids were all brought up on her own cooking and they have beautiful skin, teeth, hair etc. We think it's because they haven't had any crap additives put into their bodies. Just our opinion though!
I fed my daughter home made food only for the first 8 months, now she has both, mainly due to convienience as i've been on hospital with a knee operation and her dads been taking care of her.

But as ethandron said they wouldnt sell them if they werent suitable. You also can buy Organic food and food thats has no added additives - so i personally think they can be just as good as home made.
hi i think if you buy a good quality jar of food it doesnt make as much difference. i decidied with my first baby to make my own and to be honest with buying all good quality fresh veg etc it cost the same to buy jars i would say do both to give tastes of things you really wouldnt make yourself. with my second baby i made all the usual but liquidised like meat, pot and veg to get my son used to it but now that he is bigger its taken the opposite affect as he now hates meat and will only eat chicken if he cant see it in home-made curry etc. my daughter loves traditional meat veg etc and my son loves all things spicy. do whatever suits you and most importantly your baby. if they really enjoy it let them have it.
I give my baby home food 70% of the time but the organic baby foods dont contain no additives or preservatives so there as good as homefood and I think they taste better then my cooking lol (maybe Im just a bad cook lol) My daughter loves the Hipp ones especially.
Both have there pros and cons and as long as you check the labels for hidden nasties you should be fine and try to stick with organic ones :-)
i feel that homemade is aways better and cheaper! but if you do go the jar route, i'd get the organic kind. and always read the ingredients. alot of incredients say sugar, and things from concentrate.
