Try aloe-vera gel.Keep it in the fridge.Iy should help cool the skin & reduce irritation.Cool baths with Lavender oil can also help healing & can help relax also.Try 1-2 drops for children & 6 for an adult.Good luck!
Should have said that I'm a Health Visitor & Aromatherapist so both my suggestions have a sound basis -and I've had very positive feedback when I've suggested them before!
Piriton is fine in small doses & for a short-term use.Try using that on a night. Also cotton sheets & clothes.Calamine is OK but smelly & messy & not very effective.Hope this helps.
tried the calomine last night and didnt help one bit....we all didnt get to sleep until 3am,she was very irritable and just wanted sleep but couldnt stop itching so i am definately going to try the piriton and lavender oil in the bath....fingers crossed for my spotty little madame....
Hi - I get recurring shingles (same virus/spots as chickenpox) and have recently discovered Eurax cream - I don't know if you can use it on a little one, I'm sure a pharmacist will tell you - but its the ONLY thing that has stopped the itching!! Good luck - hope you little one is feeling much better soon x
