My son got a bite or a boil/spot on his leg last week. It settled down. Then 4 days ago, he got an eczema like rash about 2in around it. Then, yesterday, he started to get red spots all over his body. He has got them on the leg where the initial bite/boil/spot was, then on stomach and back, then on the other leg, his feet and now a little on his face. Phoned NHS Direct yesterday and was told to take him to hospital. We did this. Guess what, its a virus!!! They are not itching (and he has had chicken pox already). But we wasn't even asked if he had had the MMR. Anyway, my point is, am I being over anxious or should I be worried about them?

Has he got any other signs of being ill? high temp? off food? affected by bright lights?

Their records may well state if hes had MMR and measles is still (luckily) pretty rare. Measles is also preceeded by very high fever as are many of the rash type illnesses.

My son has had viral type rashes a few times and the GP just send us on our way.

If he is still covered in spots in a few days, or if he has a fever which you cant control or any other symptoms then take him to your GP or call NHS direct again for advice.

oh and of course youre not being over anxious, thats what all mummies are like! :)
