hi my 2 year old woke up yesterday morning moaning that " his willy was hurting ". he kept telling me he needed a wee but wouldnt go. by the time i got to my moms house ( 30 mins ) his penis was all swollen and very sore. i took him to the docs who said he has balanitis. in english- an infection. he gave him FLUCLOXACILLIN and said if no improvement in 2 days to bring him back. today he has woke up and the tip is very swollen now too.
has anyone else experienced this with there son and is it normal and should i wait 48 hours or do you think i should get a scond opinion. he is going to the toilet today which he couldnt yesterdau but he just seems to be more swollen

i have rang nhs direct and was told there is a 4 hour wait for a doc to ring back!!! what a surprise!!!!!!!!

Oh the poor little love, can't you telephone the doctor you saw yesterday & express your concern that it seems even more swollen today. Your son is only two after all I'm sure the doctor would rather you called to be reassured than worry for two days.

Has he been circumcised? If not, has he retracted his foreskin. Important to answer.

thanks for your answers i have just got back from a long 27 hours stay at the childrens hospital. they kept him in over night ona drip with stronger antibiotics which seem to be doing the job x
