Do children realise things or not?
My son, who will be 5 at Christmas, was in the bath tonight and told me he had an egg inside his skin.
"oh" I said "and where is it?".
He then proceeded to show me one of his testicles and said hiding in there.
When asked who had shown him he said chip told him. Chip is his monkey teddy...
Do you think he found it and decided that was what it was or should we be worried? He does seem to fiddle down there a lot but I suppose men do until they die though...

you could just let him know that he shouldnt really mess with it though and he shouldnt show it to anyone other than mommy daddy nanny etc and for him to let you know if it hurts or summat like that. just incase he starts showing his friends his new found egg lol bless him

my son is five and he's always playing with his bits! i have told him its fine if he does it in his bed on his own not in public, as its his privates. the other day he said mummy i think there are eyeballs in there! i told him that they werent eyeballs but special balls where the seeds to make babies are made when you are older. some parents dont until their older but i always tell my son the truth but in way thats right for his age, i am pregnant so he knows how babies are made!
i dont think you have anything to worry about.

When my son was 5, he asked the proverbial "where do babies come from". Then it was: "yes, but how do they GET in your tummy?" I knew it was time for some explanations, and told him in a a matter-of-fact way that he could understand. He accepted it straight away, and then seemed to forget about it. My younger son was extremely interested in his own bits and pieces though, and likened his testicles to ping pong balls! I did the same with him, and told him that he mustn't squeeze of press them too hard, or he could injure himself. I also told him not to touch his bits if people were around, as his body was private and it didn't "look very nice in front of anyone." Again, it was taken in his stride. If you have a laugh, and don't make a fuss about things cassa, everything'll turn out as it should do. x
